Lorraine Lillian Weaver, 91, died peacefully at Benedictine Health Center in New Brighton, MN on Thursday, December 10 th , 2020. She was born in Aitkin, MN on June 19 th , 1929 to George and Esther Peterson. Lorraine grew up in Moose Lake, Minnesota where she went to school. In 1945 she was a live-in caretaker for 2 children (Paul and Susan) at the home of Reverend Reuben Youngdahl of Minneapolis. The Youngdahl family cherished Lorraine. Mrs. Youngdahl wrote a letter of appreciation to her parents how devoted Lorraine was to their family. Also, she worked for Dayton’s Department store. On July 1 st , 1954, Lorraine married Paul Weaver in the Central Lutheran Church of Minneapolis. To their marriage, two daughters were born: Susan and Jeannie. Lorraine spent much of her life as a homemaker, making pies, turkey soup, and her delicious banana bread. She deeply enjoyed the tunes of the 1940’s: singing and dancing, she was always on the move. Every time she heard “In the Mood” or a good Boogie Woogie, she would get right up and dance. She also passed her time by sewing small projects and sketching peoples’ faces. Lorraine treasured all the family time spent visiting Moose Lake, and her heart was always warmed chatting with her sisters on the phone and traveling to see them in person. In more recent years, Lorraine loved playing slot machines and brought her fun and entertainment - even if she lost. She was a special, kind lady whom will be dearly missed. Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Paul in 2015; daughter Susan in 1994; parents; brothers, Parnell, Perry, and Earl Peterson; and sisters, Rosadel Skelton and LaVerne Peterson. She is survived by her daughter, Jeannie (Mark) Christenson; grandchildren, Karl (MoonSun) Christenson and Maria Christenson; great-grandchildren, Daniel and Benjamin Christenson, and Asha and Aaron Bains; sisters, Irene Clothier and Doris Berner. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 16th, 2020 from 11:30am - 12:30pm in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home. A graveside ceremony will follow in Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Moose Lake.
