The casino inspector works under the watchful eye of the senior gaming inspector. Casino inspectors or “gaming inspectors,” are responsible for placing gaming seals on approved slot machines, checking licenses, testing devices, and receiving and processing grievances and disputes. Casino inspectors in cruise ships earn $37,760-$40,000 per year and senior gaming inspectors may start at around $50,000+ per year.

Slot technicians are responsible for the maintenance and repairs of all casino devices and machines. Slot technicians earn around $2,500-$2,800 per month plus tips. Cashiers are responsible for the accounting of revenue and they work under the direction of the casino manager. This is an entry-level position with room to grow. Cashiers earn around $1,400-$1,900 per month plus tips.
To become a member of the casino staff on cruise ships, applicants must have most of the same qualifications as they would for land-based casino jobs. For management and inspection positions, most cruise ships prefer an associate degree or higher in a technical field, research, legal/law, finance, hotel management or accommodations, or other related field. Applicants must also have excellent reporting skills, excellent computer skills, and investigative and analytical skills.
Casino Dealer Jobs In Cruise Line
For dealers, you must have experience working in a land or sea-based casino and an associates degree may be useful, For slot technicians, you must have extensive experience with installing and repairing slot machines and you must have a certificate or technical degree in a mechanical or electrical field. Cashiers must have accounting, and cash-handling experience, preferably in a casino or similar environment. Customer service experience is useful as well.
All casino applicants must also be 21 years of age, speak fluent English, have a clean criminal background, meaning, no felony convictions, and they must pass a drug test. Identification is required as well and the only acceptable forms of identification are a passport or driver’s license.
